Ontario Fly-in Walleye Fishing. Our float planes land you on a pristine lake where your camp is the only camp on the lake. You have left the crowds behind. You are alone in God's country on a lake that is all your own. Simply, the fishing is better.

When you fly-in to our Walleye outpost camps in Ontario, Walleye are usually taken on live bait rigs such as a crawler harness, spinners or jigs. Drifting slowly or back trolling over drop off areas of weed beds, sandbars, rocky points and shoals will generally produce walleyes. Walleye are most often caught in shallow water of 4 to 10 feet in the summer months. During late August and September, Walleye may move to deeper areas such as deep tips of points or sunken islands and move back into shallow areas during the late evening. Other commonly used lures for Walleye are Mepps Spinners, Rapalas, Shad Rap and Mister Twister Jigs. Our great Ontario Fly-in
Walleye fishing lakes include the following:

1) Apisabigo Lake : For Ontario Fly-in Walleye Fishing. This beautiful walleye lake is located 47 miles east of our flying base in Hawk Jct. in the Chapleau Game Preserve. The lake is 3 miles long and 2 miles wide and has numerous bays and islands along a rocky shoreline. The average lake depth is 20 ft. with some spots 50 to 60 feet deep. Walleye fishing is excellent with an average catch being 1.5 to 3lbs and many in the 4 to 6lb range. Each year we see several trophies ranging from 8 to 12lbs.

2) Johns Lake : For Ontario Fly-in Walleye Fishing. This consistent walleye fishing lake is located 41 miles NE of Hawk and is also in the Chapleau Game Preserve. The lake is 3 miles long and 3/4 miles wide with an average depth of 15 to 20 feet and some spots up to 60 feet deep. Average Walleye size here would be 1.5 to 2 lbs with larger fish ranging from 3 to 6 lbs. This lake is known for its consistency in producing good eating size eyes.

3) Little Missanaibi : For Ontario Fly-in Walleye Fishing. This intricate walleye lake is located 46 miles east of our base and is also in the Chapleau Game Preserve. The lake is 20 miles long and 1/2 mile wide. The lake has a rocky, winding, long shoreline with numerous weed beds in shallow waters. The lake varies in depth anywhere from 12 to 35 feet. This lake is known for producing large numbers of walleye in the 1.5 to 2lb range.

4) Medhurst Lake : For Ontario Fly-in Walleye Fishing. This area of wilderness wonderland for walleye fishing is located 30 miles NW of Hawk and is 4 miles long and 3/4 miles wide. The lake features a rocky shoreline with big bays and coves and is surrounded by hills on the west end. The lake depth runs around 20 feet with some spots up to 40 - 50 feet and a deep hole in the back bay measuring 90 feet deep. The lake is a good prodWalleye Fishing Ontario - The largest of todays catch!ucer of 1.5 to 2 lb walleyes and is a favorite spot for families with easy fishing in front of the island and the convenient sand beach in front of the cabin. Occasional 4 or 5 pounders are caught down deep in the back bay.

5) Nameigos Lake : For Ontario Fly-in Walleye Fishing. This 8 mile long walleye lake is located 47 miles NW of Hawk. The lake has a brushy shoreline with lots of bays. The lake depth is 20 feet on average with spots up to 40 feet deep. Good Walleye fishing exists at both ends of the lake with average sizing running from 1.5 to 2 lbs.

6) Fred Lake : For Ontario Fly-in Walleye Fishing. This chain of lakes is located 43 miles due north of our base in Hawk Jct. Fred Lake is a great walleye fishing lake and is1 mile long and 1/2 mile wide and has a rocky shoreline and an average depth of 15 feet with spots up to 30 feet. Excellent Walleye fishing also exists on the portage Lake "Mozambik" which is 5 miles long and 1 mile wide. Mozambik is a shallow lake with depths of 10 to 15 feet. It is a weedy, high action lake with walleye in the 1.5 to 2 lb range.

7) Tonys Lake : For Ontario Fly-in Walleye Fishing. This walleye fishing lake of much variety is our furthest lake north measuring 59 miles due north of Hawk. The lake is 2.5 miles long and 1/2 mile wide with depths measuring 25 to 30 feet. The lake features a sandy shoreline with numerous bays and weeds extending well out from shore. Accessible via a short portage trail is the Oba River which features a variety of walleye fishing opportunities over approximately 8 miles of river. Walleye here average 1.5 to 2 lbs and are caught with relative ease.

8) Redwood Lake : This 3 mile long lake is often called "Prairie Grass" on some maps and is located 30 miles north of our base at Ranger Lake. This lake features a rocky shoreline and numerous weed beds. Lake depth averages 15 to 20 feet with spots up to 35 feet. This lake is a good producer of average sized Walleye in the 1.5 to 2 lb size.

9) Goulais Lake : This fantastic body of water is 5 miles long and is located 20 miles north of our base on Ranger Lake. Goulais is a narrow lake that has a rocky shoreline and depths up to 100 feet. The lake has easy Walleye fishing close to the camp and produces average size fish between 1.5 and 2 lbs.

10) Ermine Lake : This 2 mile long lake is located 54 miles north of Hawk and sits just east of the big Kaby Lake. The lake structure is weedy with some rocky shoreline and sandy beach. Lake depth is 15 to 20 feet average with spots up to 40 feet. The walleye on this lake are mostly average size of 1.5 to 2 lbs.

11) Crescent Lake : This 2 mile long horseshoe shaped lake is situated just south east of Ermine Lake. The shoreline has narrow, sandy beaches and lake depth is 20 to 25 feet with spots at 50 feet. The Walleye here average 1.5 to 2 lbs.

12) Dave Lake : This irregular shaped, 3 mile long lake is located 30 miles south of Hawk. The lake itself is shaped with lots of bays and coves and it supports a rugged shoreline with sandy beaches. The lake depth runs 15 to 25 feet with spots up to 70 feet. The lake is a good producer of Walleye with average size between 1.5 and 2 lbs. Bigger Walleye are caught on a sporadic basis.

13) Mank Lake : This "L" shaped lake is 2 miles long and is located 34 miles south of our base on Hawk Lake. The lake has a straight shoreline, numerous weed beds and a wide creek for canoeing. This lake has been an steady producer over the years, but has really done well the last 2 seasons. 1.5 to 2 lbs are average but numerous lunkers are found every year.
